Back... kind of

Tue Apr 21, 2009, 9:10 PM
So Korea was a blast... I am back, and going through my inbox but considering that I still have 1000+ to go through, and I would rather not sit and delete them all without looking, it will be a while until I post. There is a new peice up, pretty much as a teaser though. I'll see if I have anything old on my computer that I figure is worth posting, but at this point-- be patient please!
I am also currently finishing this term of college with both my anthro and philosophy finals tomorrow-- but then I am finally free.
I also apologize for not commenting on all the deviatations I look at and fave but I just don't have the time.

South Korea

Thu Mar 27, 2008, 1:16 PM
So I had known for a while that I would be going on an exchange to South Korea. I still have yet to find out exactly where ( I'm hoping close enough to where my cousin teaches English, I haven't seen her in 5 years and I would love to visit with her. ) but I at least have the dates now-- July 25 until August 12th.
What's even more awesome about this exchange is I don't have to pay for anything unless I choose to buy clothes, cds, comics, and the like (which I likely will). So that means free room and board, free airline, and free food. ^-^ HAHA! (I so totally own!)
So heres the thing-- I know very little about their music, teen culture, or any of that. I have books that talk about the general culture but none of the young, hip stuff. So if you know any good bands, tv shows, or anything about their gothic culture- plz pass it on... or better yet- link me if possible! I am having troubles finding anything good on the net in my searches.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Thu Aug 23, 2007, 1:46 PM
Yay its my birthday.. I'm 18 O_O Hahahaha!
I went back to my old school to see if I could take the courses that I need for a post-secondary and I couldn't until the spring- when I would be entering the post-secondary so I pulled out of there completely. However, I signed up for a correspondence program for schooling- I'll be taking German, Math 12, and Comparative Civilations.
I don't really need the German but I really want it. Not only will I be able to understand my music more, but I will be able to communicate with some of my cousins who speak German better than they do English.
Other than that I should be picking up a job at a local restaurant, but if not I'll either be working at a bakery or a clothing store. Who knows? lol
I'll also be finally updating this account once I have my b-day pressie for my 'annikii' Tyler done. Amazing, me actually submit something other than poetry?! Yep.
Anyways back to homework,

Scholarship!

Mon Jul 16, 2007, 3:44 PM
So got a letter from my school district today, which was rather bothersome to see thinking back on the fact that at least 80% of my teachers thought I was depressed and in need of councilling to deal with it. The reason why it was bothersome at first was that one of my friends who has been in the same boat got a letter recommending councilling recently herself. And that's all thanks to severe stereotyping of people and the groups in which they flit. One major example of this stereotyping can be viewed at [link]

But it turns out it was actually good news!
I got a scholarship!
And no I can't say exactly how much it's for since I forgot, but whatever I get on it is matched and sent to the school to help support the program next year. Which ultimately benefits me twice in the end too since I should be going back for upgrades and I wrote down art to fill in one of my blocks since it's required that you have 4 courses to return.
It's only a district scholarship but it's still money in my pocket and really that's all that matters!

So I guess I got looked over for that stereotyping- or I just haven't received that particular letter yet. But for now I'm exstatic!
Ja~
